Thanks to all the riders that participated and everyone who helped make it happen.  Great instruction and information from Christian Schacht in both dressage and show jumping.  We definitely look forward to more in the future.

The way a horse is physically built—its conformation—reveals a lot about the discipline for which it is best suited, and this reference provides detailed advice on selecting horses specifically for competition in internationally recognized sports. Sport horse breeding authority Christian Schacht presents a new and easy-to-use system for evaluating the conformation of the sport horse, with special attention on dressage, jumping, and eventing prospects. Amateur and professional riders, breeders, veterinarians, trainers, and judges will all benefit from this method based on recognizing professionally accepted proportions and lines, allowing a well-trained eye to ascertain a horse’s strengths and weaknesses and therefore correctly determine its training and fitness regimens.

We are now accepting rider applicants for the clinic with Dr. Christian Schachts June 25th.

Dr. Schacht is a Dressage and show jumping judge, as well as the Breeding Director of the Oldenburg Registry N.A. He is also a well-known equine educator, rider, clinician, breeder, trainer, and author.

Christian has extensive experience breeding sport horses including Trakehners, Thoroughbreds, Arabians, and Oldenburgs. He twice won the German Championship for student riders and led the rankings for several years for both Dressage and Combination in the student rider divisions. In addition he has trained and competed horses in the disciplines of Eventing, Dressage up to Prix St. George, and Show Jumping to 1.40 meters. He holds a judging license for the highest national levels of competition in Germany.

A Doctor of Veterinary medicine since 1993 he has earned three Masters degrees in equine disciplines, and is a published author of several books about riding and maintaining the soundness of horses. Dr Schacht currently resides in Germany.

Rules and guidelines, we must take the time to read them and follow them. Sometimes the judges and stewards can miss them and it's great to have your trainer in your corner when that happens.

It is vital to follow the rules in sport for the following reasons:

•To maintain the safety of all people involved in the activity.
•To allow the activity to be fair
•To ensure the game is played the same regardless of location
•To enable the performers to understand how the game is to be played or activity is to be carried out.

When most people would rather shy away from an uncomfortable situation and not speak up, I so very much appreciate Stephanie who was not afraid to point out two instances that were not in compliance with the rules set in 2012 LEG Anniversary Hunter Derby Series.

Deni did a great job yesterday with Vinny in the Derby! They finished 4th out of 12 entries!

Saturday was a great time at the barn as the girls worked together and painted new jumps, the arena got a dose of added sand and we celebrated Steph's birthday with a delicious feast!

Let's wish Tracy good luck this weekend taking her baby Dolly to LAEC for their FEI 4yr old test!

They ride at nine Thursday, eight am Friday and Saturday and then again at nine on Sunday!

First show of the Gold Coast series out of the way! Archie was a super star and is really growing up. Deni did a great job with him. Olivia and conquered nervous gitters jumping 3ft and first time in the equidome. Vinny handled it all in stride and took care of her. We are proud of all of them.

Great way to strengthen back and core muscles.

Great fun yesterday at the Horse Expo. Looking forward to having Dr. Christian Schacht clinic at our barn in June for some cross training with Dressage and Jumping!
